How to Adjust Arm Lock Tension on J100 or J70 Drones

How to Adjust Arm Lock Tension on J100 or J70 Drones

1. Check the current arm lock tension 0:32

  • Pull the arm lock handle to take a reading.
  • Compare the measured tension to the target spec.
  • In the example, the J100 reads 79.7, which is above the required 70 ± 5 range.

2. Determine whether adjustment is needed 0:32

  • If the reading is outside the acceptable range, adjust the arm lock tension.
  • Because the reading is too tight/high, the arm needs to be loosened slightly by turning the adjustment in the correct direction.

3. Make a small wrench adjustment 0:58

  • Use a 6 mm wrench to adjust the arm lock.
  • Turn to the right in this case to tighten/bring the tension into spec.
  • Make only a small change at a time, since fine adjustments can have a big effect.

4. Re-test the tension after adjustment 1:07

  • Pull the handle again to verify the new reading.
  • After the adjustment, the reading drops to 66.
  • This is now within the acceptable 70 ± 5 range.
