ESC Auto Check error displayed on RC screen. This error happens when an ESC fails to boot up correctly after powering up the drone.
Cause:
- It could have been a faulty start up
- Error in firmware
- Faulty component
Diagnosing:
- Restart the aircraft
- Swap faulty esc with a good esc on your drone, to see if the problem switches locations.
- If it follows the faulty esc it is an issue with ESC
- If the problem is still on that arm it could be an issue with the motor so do the same and switch it to a new location.
- If the problem moves to a new location it could be a faulty motor.
- Downgrade and Reupdate Firmware.
- If the problem does not follow ESC or Motor, you could have a damaged ESC cable harness.
Solutions:
- Restart Aircraft
- Downgrade and Reupdate
- Swap ESC
- The ESC is the typical fix but if not it could be a replacement of Motor or ESC composite cable.
- If above options fail
-
- Check for damage on distribution boards, signal cables, and avionics module
- Replace modules in logical progression till issue is resolved
- Check for damage on distribution boards, signal cables, and avionics module
-
Conclusion:
This issue is mostly due to a bad ESC and is easily fixed by simply replacing the ESC. The customer can swap the bad ESC to another arm and see if the issue follows as that will indicate the ESC is the actual issue. If error does not follow the ESC then check the harness and modules for damage.
