Generator is charging longer than 15-20 minutes or not charging at all.
Cause:
- There is an error with the DC Module on the generator.
- The DC Module is what sends and regulates power from the generator to the charger in the generator.
- There is an error with the charger in the generator.
- The charger can have a few components that go bad including the cord or the whole charger itself that may need replacement.
- Generator maintenance is required.
- The charging station tracks the running hours and at certain intervals if the maintenance has not been performed and codes have not been cleared.
- A charger update is required for the charger in the generator to function properly.
- Just like the drone and controller, the generator charger has a firmware that affects the efficiency and performance of the machine.
Diagnosing:
- While attempting to charge a battery on the side of the generator where the battery plugs in, observe the lights on the charging station.
- There will be a list of what different codes require above the charger on the side of the generator that will be able to tell what is potentially wrong with the generator.
- For firmware related issues you can plug a T40 controller into the charger and see if there is an update available.
- There will be an option to update the firmware of the charger just like the drone or RC but under the “charging devices” section.
Solutions:
- DC Module Issue
- Replace the DC Module.
- Generator Maintenance
- Complete the maintenance required and clear the code with a controller
- AC Module
- This is an error with the charger inside of the generator. May require replacing the charger or further inspection of components (wires, plugs, etc.)
- Firmware Update
- Plug the T40 controller in and update from the device screen.
