T30 Remote Stuck in Chinese Region
After performing a factory reset the remote is stuck in the Chinese region and will not let the pilot select a new region with an error saying the RC needs to be connected to the internet.
Solution:
- From a windows computer look up in a search browser “DJI Assistant for MG”
- Download the app and go through the installation process to get Assistant on your computer.
- Take your T30 remote and open the bottom compartment where the dongle is and remove the dongle and the 4 screws that hold it to the bottom of the remote.
- The expansion board will then pull off of the remote, the back with the external battery is held on with double sided tape.
- Be careful not to damage the USB-C plug where the expansion board plugs into the remote.
- With the remote turned on, plug a USB-C to USB cable into the bottom of the remote and into the computer with DJI Assistant open.
- Click on the remote and go to updates.
- Update the RC to any firmware.
- It will first download, then transmit, then update.
- Usually when it is actually updating the firmware the remote will prompt you to select your region.
- If it does not prompt you while updating, it will after finishing.
