AutoMixer Troubleshooting: The fans spin but the screen remains blue!

  1. Screen not turned on in the correct order: Ensure both HDMI and USB cables are plugged into the AutoMixer, then turn the screen on and press the wand button until you have the HDMI source selected and current. Then turn on the AutoMixer. It is important that the screen is on and set properly so that the AutoMixer detects in on boot.
  2. Display cable connectivity issues: Disconnect the USB and HDMI cables from the AutoMixer, and the DVI style connector from the display. If you have access to contact cleaner, liberally spray the cleaner into all ports, as well as on the cable, and wait 5-10 minutes for it to dry. If you do not, wipe away and blow out any debris as best you can. Reconnect the cable with both the screen and AutoMixer, ensuring that the DVI style connector is properly seated.
  3. Raspberry Pi Computer Failure: If the above two suggestions did not work, it is time to open up the AutoMixer. Remove all 10 screws from the top and set aside; remove the top panel.
WARNING: DO NOT REACH INTO THE AUTOMIXER WITH POWER APPLIED! SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH COULD RESULT! With the top removed, plug in the AutoMixer and look for lights on the Raspberry Pi. You should see a red LED illuminated if the Raspberry Pi has booted properly. If you do not, please contact us for a replacement Raspberry Pi.
  4. Reseat Internal Connectors: Often connectors come loose inside the AutoMixer with excessive vibration. You can un- and re- plug both the  USB and HDMI connectors, then reboot the mixer. If your mixer has a blue display cable bracket, you can also remove and reconnect the microHDMI cable, but take care as the microHDMI cable and port are fragile. Try to slightly jostle these connectors as well, and look for any flash on the screen.
  5. Call us for replacement parts: If none of these fixes work, it is likely that one of the internal components has failed. This can occur due to exposure to chemical, dust, or excessive vibration. You may give us a call at (573) 226-4767 and we will be happy to help get your AutoMixer back up and running with quick service and fast shipping!
