Power On Drone

Ensure the drone powers on properly.

If not, it could indicate an ESC short.

Power Cycle

Power cycle the drone to confirm proper functioning.

Remove ESC
-
Unplug ESC from the drone and motor.

Inspect ESC

Thoroughly check ESC for:

Damage to the body (cracks, scorching).

Damage to the light cover (cracks, water damage).

Moisture behind the plastic cover.

Corrosion on plugs.

Replacement
-
Replace ESC if:

Body is damaged.

Light cover is damaged.

Moisture is present.
-
Corrosion is found on plugs.

Maintenance

DJI recommends replacing ESC every 700 hours of flight.
