How to adjust steering control parameters - HD408 Auto Steer

The parameters below should be adjusted to achieve desired results if the system is swerving, cannot maintain an AB line, or is having difficulty regaining lines after 1 Touch U-Turn.

  1. Ensure Quick calibration process has been successfully completed and all measurements are accurate.
  2. Click the “Controls” tab on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
  3. Take a photo to document your stock parameters in case a reset is needed in the future.
  4. Only adjust parameters under “General Control Mode.” Do not adjust “Full adaptation Mode.”
  5. Onto line sensitivity, Online Sensitivity, and Steering attack adjustment are the main 3 parameters that should be adjusted. Adjustments to Heading Sensitivity and Terrain Compensation coefficient are typically not needed.
    1. Onto line sensitivity - (next target line): How quickly it finds the next line
      1. Lower number = less sensitive
      2. Adjust by 5-10 points at a time
    2. Online Sensitivity - (current line): Reaction speed and tolerance to keep the machine on the AB line.
      1. Lower number = less sensitive
      2. Adjust by 5-10 points at a time
    3. Steering attack adjustment - how fast the motor spins the wheel while turning or adjusting on the line (responsiveness/jerkiness).
      1. Default is fine for most circumstances
      2. Adjust  by 1 point at a time
  6. If the tractor is swerving, over correcting, or losing the AB line, you should gradually adjust each of  the 3 parameters individually and test in an open area.
  7. Reduce the parameter sensitivity if the machine is swerving erratically or if the wheel is overcorrecting.
  8. Press “OK” after any adjustments are made to save parameters.
