Step by Step
1. Prepare USB Drive 0:07
- Make sure flash drive is formatted to FAT 32 for Android. Use caution when reformatting as other drives could be wiped accidentally if they are selected.
2. Download updates here or from the latest update article:

3. Insert USB Drive 0:35
- Flip up the monitor of the HD 408 system.
- Locate the USB port on the bottom of the monitor and insert the USB drive.
4. Access File Manager + 0:46
- File Manager + may appear automatically when the USB drive is inserted.
- Otherwise, minimize the autosteer app and go to File Manager + on the home screen of the Android monitor. Confirm your flash drive is being recognized.
5. Locate and Extract Update File 1:06
- Find the update file
- If the file is a zip file, long press on it, select 'more', then 'extract', and choose a location to extract it.
6. Install Update File 1:20
- If the file is a .apk, skip the extraction step.
- Hold down on the update file (.apk), select 'more' in the bottom right corner, then 'open with', and choose 'certificate installer'. Press 'just once'.
7. Navigate to Update Settings 2:11
- Return to the main home screen of the autosteer system.
- Click on 'settings' in the bottom left corner, then 'system', and finally 'version'.
- Find the component you wish to update.
- Click 'update' and wait for the system to search for available updates.
- If an update is found, click on it to start the upgrade process.
- Wait until the upgrade is complete.
10. Confirm Update Success 2:37
- Look for a message on the screen that says 'update success' to confirm the update was completed.
