      Intro to the Autel Evo Lite 6k

      This article is a quick walk through of the Autel Evo Lite 6k. Including unboxing and setting up the drone.

       

       

      Standard Operating Procedure for Operating the Autel Evo 6K Drone

      Objective

      This SOP outlines the steps for safely and effectively operating the Autel Evo 6K drone for various applications such as surveying and inspections.

      Key Steps

       

      1. Unboxing and Initial Setup 0:06

      • Open the Pelican case to access the drone and accessories.

      • Ensure all components are present: drone, remote, batteries, charger, extra props.

      • Charge all batteries before first use.

       

      2. Preparing the Drone for Flight 1:10

      • Remove the drone from the case and unfold it carefully.

      • Spread the blades from back to front to avoid unbalanced pressure on the motors.

      • Insert the SD card into the designated slot.

       

      3. Powering On the Drone and Remote 6:00

      • Power on the remote by holding the power button until it beeps.

      • Power on the drone in the same manner and wait for the lights to blink.

       

      4. Connecting to GPS and Initial Calibration 7:13

      • Wait for the drone to connect to GPS; ensure a strong signal.

      • Perform compass calibration if the drone is new or has been moved significantly.

      • Set return-to-home altitude to avoid obstacles (e.g., 225 feet).

      • Adjust distance limits to ensure safe return in case of low battery.

      • Monitor battery levels and ensure safe landing conditions.

      Cautionary Notes

      • Always check the drone's battery level before flight; do not fly below 20% battery.
