      J100 Adjusting Arm Lock Handle

      This article provides step-by-step instructions for adjusting the arm lock handle on the J100 to ensure proper tightness and functionality.

      Key Steps

       

      Required Tools 0:15

      1. Use force gauge to measure current  force (in newtons)

      • 85 newtons is the proper force we are looking for. (plus or minus 10 is acceptable).
      • If not within this range continue on with the steps to adjust.

      2. Remove Arm Lock Handle Bolt and Nut

      3. Adjust tightness/ looseness by rotating right/left.

      • One full turn typically adds plus or minus 20-40 Newtons

      4. Re insert Bolt and Nut removed earlier.

       

      5. Use force gauge to measure current  force (in newtons)

      • If still not at the desired range, repeat process until in the desired force range (85 Newtons)

      Cautionary Notes

      • Ensure the force gauge is zeroed out before each measurement.

      • Always replace the nut after adjustments to maintain operational integrity.

      • Be cautious of over-tightening, which can lead to equipment damage.

      • Perform adjustments in small increments (1/4 to 1/2 turns) to avoid overshooting the desired tightness.

      • Regularly check arm lock handles after repairs or crashes to ensure they are properly adjusted.
