Troubleshooting

J100 CPU Cooling Fans Not Working

This article provides the steps to take to troubleshoot the CPU cooling fan not working on the J100.

Issue: Flight controller (CPU) cooling fan not working

Steps to fixing this problem:

1.  Fully power down and restart your drone (Internal and external battery).

Click Here for How to Fully Shut Down the J100.

If the issue persists, then continue to the steps below.

2. Check whether the cooling fan cable is damaged or if the connection is not fully seated.

If no damage is found, or if the connection was all the way seated, or if the issue persists, then continue to the steps below.

3. Replace the CPU Cooling fan.

The fan may be faulty and should be replaced to see if this resolves the issue.

If the issue persists, then continue to the steps below.

4. Last Resort: Replace the CPU.

This is the last resort to this issue, as if it's not the Cooling fan, it's cables, or the connection, then the CPU may have a fault, although this is not very common. (Typically, this issue would be resolved with one of the three steps above.)
