J100 Drone and RC Disconnection Troubleshooting (P301 Power upgrade)

This article outlines the steps to troubleshoot and resolve disconnection issues between the RC and the drone, focusing on the P301 power setting and frequency adjustments. (Only if flying one drone).

Drone and RC Disconnection Troubleshooting (P301 Power settings)

Key Steps

1. Understanding P301 Module Settings 0:10

  • The P301 module allows switching between the 2.4 GHz (1.2.3) and 5.8 GHz bands (1.2.2)

  • Factory settings are on the 5.8 GHz band (1.2.2), recommended for normal operations.

2. Checking Current Band Settings 1:02

  • If experiencing disconnection issues, check if the UAV and RC is set to 2.4 GHz.

  • Switch to 5.8 GHz if necessary, as it is less prone to interference.

3. Adjusting Antenna Alignment 1:31

  • Experiment with different orientations for the antenna to improve signal.

4. Increasing Frequency Power (Single Drone Operation Only) 2:01

  • Ensure only one drone is being operated at a time. (Very important)

  • Power on the drone and navigate to the device settings.

5. Modifying P301 Power Settings 2:28

  • Locate the P301 module in the settings.

  • Click on 'Increase Frequency' to boost the power setting.

6. Resetting Power Settings if Necessary 3:04

  • If the drone is powered off and on, it will default back to normal power settings.

  • Repeat the adjustment if needed.

7. Reducing Frequency Power 3:36

  • To lower the power setting, click 'Reduce Frequency'.

  • Note that low settings are generally not recommended.

8. Confirming Settings 3:50

Cautionary Notes

  • Only adjust frequency power if operating one drone at a time to avoid signal interference.

  • If you turn off both the drone battery and internal battery, settings will reset.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Always check and confirm the current frequency band before flying.

  • Keep a checklist of steps to quickly troubleshoot disconnection issues.

  • Regularly inspect antenna alignment to prevent connectivity problems.
