J100 How to Disassemble the Remote Controller (RC)

Key Steps

Step 1: Gather Tools 0:01

  • Tools Required:

    • Phillips screwdriver

    • Pry tool

    • Silicone (for reassembly)

    • J100 controller

 

Step 2: Remove Sticks 0:10

  • Unscrew the two sticks from the controller.

  • Place the controller upside down on a soft surface.

 

Step 3: Remove Grips 0:45

  • Use the pry tool to gently lift the grips off the controller.

  • Repeat on the opposite side.

 

Step 4: Remove Mesh Covers 1:08

  • Pry off the mesh covers using the pry tool.

  • Start at the edges for easier removal.

 

Step 5: Unscrew the Controller 1:08

  • Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove all visible screws.

  • Important: Check under the sticker for a hidden screw.

 

Step 6: Separate the Controller Halves 4:47

  • Gently turn the controller over and allow some parts to drop out.

  • If it doesn’t separate easily, check for any remaining screws.

 

Step 7: Access Internal Components 5:18

  • Carefully pull apart the two halves of the controller to access internal components.

 

Step 8: Reassemble the Controller 5:29

  • Tuck all cables in to avoid pinching.

  • Press the two halves back together.

 

Step 9: Insert Screws 6:03

  • Use smaller screws in designated spots.

  • Use larger screws with rubber seals for the remaining holes.

 

Step 10: Reattach Mesh Covers 9:13

  • Position mesh covers on tabs and press until they click into place.

 

Step 11: Apply Silicone for Grips 9:57

  • Apply a bead of silicone around the edges of the grips.

  • Place grips back on the controller and press down lightly.

 

Step 12: Reattach Sticks 11:03

  • Screw the smaller stick piece back on first (thicker side up).

  • Repeat for the other side.

Cautionary Notes

  • Always ensure that all screws are removed before attempting to pull apart the controller.

  • Be gentle when using the pry tool to avoid damaging the controller.
