J100 How to Install a Spreader and perform a Spreader Calibration

This article outlines the steps the remove spray tank, and install the spreader. As well as performing a spreader calibration insuring your J100 is and ready to start spreading.

Installing Spreader on J100 and Performing a Spreader Calibration

Steps:

1. Open all J100 arms for easy access to tank.

2.  Disconnect Spray hose on both sides of drone.

3. Under the front of the drone, disconnect Cable shown in picture below.

4. Once Bothe hoses on sides and cable under front of drone are disconnected as shown in the pictures above. Lift the tank straight up and out of the drone.

5. Grab your spreader tank, insert the spreader tank straight down in the drone.

Ensuring the black square is facing the front of the drone.

6. Plug cord from tank into port under front of drone, as shown in picture below.

Now the installation process is complete, and the spreader calibration will need to be done.

Performing a Spreader Calibration

Quick note: for every different material used in the spreader, you will need to do a spreader calibration for that specific material.

Steps:

1.  Go to Flight Setting on your remote controller.

2. Click the spreader icon (Spreader Calibration)on the left in the middle shown below, and then select start calibration.

3. Select New template for new material being used.

4. Type in material being used.

5. Select "Start Calibration"

6. Ensure the spreader is completely filled with the material.

7. Setting the minimum calibration parameters by selecting "Start First Calibration" 

• Hit 'Start First Calibration'.

• Set the calibration time to 50 seconds.

• Adjust the spreader opening size to 10% (minimum).

• Hit 'Start Calibration' to begin the process.

• Wait for calibration to finish and record weight.
• Confirm weight recorded (should be around 0.36 pounds).
• Select "Next" to proceed to second calibration

8. Setting the maximum calibration parameters

• Adjust the time down to 20 seconds (to avoid running out of material).

• Set the spreader opening size to 100% (maximum).

• Hit 'Start Calibration' to begin the second calibration.

• Wait for the calibration to finish and record the data.

• Hit 'Save' to store the calibration data.

9. Finalizing the calibration template.

• Confirm that the minimum and maximum flow rates are established correctly.

• Hit 'Finish' to complete the calibration process.

10. Adjusting the spreading flow rate in the field.

• If the spreading rate is inaccurate, access the template.

• Click on the 'Edit' button.

• Use the 'Adjust Ratio' feature to fine-tune the spreading rate.

• Move the slider to compensate for any discrepancies.

• Hit 'Confirm' to save adjustments.
