J150/J70 Correct a Shifted Boundary on the Remote

To correct field boundary inaccuracies when the drone's physical location does not match its position on the remote's screen follow these steps:

 

There are several reasons boundaries created in advance may not line up with the image on Google maps when it is time to fly:

  • Inaccurate Google Maps data - georeferencing on new satellites photos was shifted from true coordinates (most common reason)
  • Poor internet connection
  • Radio or magnetic interference

Initial Troubleshooting:

Verification: To determine if a shift is necessary, fly the drone manually to a physical corner of the field without referencing the screen.

  • Once positioned, compare the drone's actual location to the boundary corner shown on the remote.

Shifting the Boundary:

  1. Select the field from the list or demand and enter the Survey mode (bottom right corner).

  2. Click the boundary icon in the top right corner and zoom out, so the entire field is in view.

  3. Choose "translation" to open the D-pad, which allows you to shift the entire boundary.

  4. OR add a "Calibration Point' to move the boundary point to the drone's current physical location

  5. Zoom in to assist with precision while adjusting the boundary points.

Saving Changes:

  1. Once the boundary is correctly aligned, save your changes and confirm.

  2. The system will display both the old and new boundaries for comparison.

 

Select the updated boundary to proceed with operation. 

  • Observe the drone's physical location and distance from obstacles during flight to confirm the flight route is safe.
