How to Install This Update

Overview

Complete all module updates in the order listed below. Skipping steps or updating out of sequence may cause compatibility issues. Both the J150 and J70 follow the same sequence — confirm you are selecting the correct firmware version for your model at each step.

Steps 1–3 are performed through the Device > Firmware Version menu in the app. Steps 4–5 are performed through the Check Current Version interface on the home screen.

Step 1 — Update the App

  • Power on the RC and drone. Ensure the RC is connected to Wi-Fi.

  • Tap the device icon and select App.

  • Check for version 1283. Tap Upgrade and wait for the update to complete.

  • The app will close and relaunch automatically. Re-enter Device > App and confirm you are on version 1283 before continuing.

Step 2 — Update the UAV Firmware

  • Tap the device icon and select Firmware Version, then select UAV.

  • J150: update to version 6.4.25

  • J70: update to version 7.0.111

  • Tap Upgrade and wait for completion. This step takes longer than normal — the UAV firmware also updates the nozzle module and nozzle ESC.

  • After the update finishes, close out and return to the home screen. Wait for the drone to cycle from idle back to fault status and confirm the arm light is solid. You can re-enter Firmware Version to verify the version is displaying correctly.

Multiple batteries: The UAV firmware update must be run once per battery. If you have three batteries, run this step three times — one battery connected per run — before moving to Step 3. Image Transmission in firmware screen: You may see an Image Transmission entry in the Firmware Version screen. The upgrade option has been removed from this location — you can view the current version here, but the actual update is done in Step 5.

Step 3 — Update the CPU

  • Tap the device icon and select Firmware Version. Scroll to the bottom and select CPU. A small red indicator will be visible if an update is available.

  • J150: update to version 2.2.94

  • J70: update to version 3.1.11

  • Tap Upgrade and wait for completion. Close out and return to the home screen. Wait for the system to come back online before continuing

CPU — Failure Recovery

  • If the CPU update fails, tap Retry once or twice.

  • If retrying does not work: power off the main battery. Remove the right antenna housing (when standing behind the drone, this is the antenna on your left). Unplug the internal battery (201 S-Bat) and leave it unplugged. Power the drone back on, allow it to connect, and attempt the CPU update again.

  • If the update still fails: connect the RC to the drone via cable as you would on a J100, then retry. • If none of the above resolves the issue, contact the ASD tech line.

Step 4 — Update the RC System

  • From the home screen, open the Check Current Version interface (separate from the Device menu). • Select System (ensure that only the system is selected) and tap Update All.

  • Update to version 2.2.0. Allow 15–20 minutes for this update to complete.

  • This update covers the RC Android system firmware, Remote ID firmware, and the new EAVision startup screen.

Step 5 — Update Image Transmission

  • From the Check Current Version interface, select Image Transmission (ensure that only the system is selected).

  • Confirm the drone and RC are powered on and linked.

  • Tap the checkmark, then tap Install. This runs the update on both the drone and RC simultaneously — you do not need to do them separately.

  • Update to version 2026.03.13.

  • After a successful update the drone will typically reconnect on its own. If it shows as disconnected, navigate to the disconnect option and tap Connect once to restore the link.

 Image Transmission — Failure Recovery

If the update fails or gets stuck, the most common cause is that the RC completed its update but the connection to the drone was lost mid-process. Follow the steps below in order.

Option A — Refresh RC firmware

  • Go to Device > RC > Running Status.

  • Select the Image Transmission entry — you will see options to Refresh or Degrade. Tap Refresh.

  • Once the RC firmware refresh completes, return to the main screen. A Connect option should appear under the UAV section.

  • Put the RC into pairing mode by holding the top-left button until it flashes green and red, then tap Connect. This often restores the link.

Option B — Degrade RC firmware (if Option A does not resolve)

  • Return to Device > RC > Running Status, select the Image Transmission entry, and tap Degrade to roll the RC back to the previous version.

  • Once the degrade finishes, re-pair by holding the power button on the RC and simultaneously holding the CPU button on top of the drone for three seconds. You do not need to use the Connect button after a degrade.

  • Contact the ASD tech line if neither option resolves the issue.

 FINAL RESET

The app will prompt you to restart the drone after each individual step — this is fine to do. Alternatively, you may complete all five steps first and perform a single reset at the end.

  • Power off the main battery, then unplug the internal battery (201 S-Bat).

  • Reconnect the internal battery and power everything back on.

  • Re-enter Device > Firmware Version and confirm all version numbers are displaying correctly before returning to operation.
