J150/J70 Manual Takeover Issue in Autonomous Operation
Pilots using both the J150 and J70 models have reported an error when using the toggle switch to transition from autonomous to manual flight.
Issue:
Pilots using both the J150 and J70 models have reported an error when using the toggle switch to transition from autonomous to manual flight. If the drone is moved into "Manual" mode via the toggle switch but is not returned to "Auto" mode before continuing the field, the remote controller may lose the ability to regain emergency control using the right stick. This prevents the user from pausing an autonomous mission or manually avoiding an obstacle
Current Status:
EA Vision is aware of this issue with the J150 controller logic and will implement a fix on the next public firmware release.
Troubleshooting and Temporary Rectification:
If you encounter a loss of stick control after using the manual toggle, follow these steps to regain control of the aircraft:
- Toggle the Left Switch: Rapidly toggle the left switch multiple times between the following modes:
- Auto
- Manual
- Verify Control: Once the drone recognizes the input and pauses operation, switch the toggle back to Auto and verify that the right stick has regained lateral control.
Preventative Measure:
Until a fix is released, ensure you return the toggle switch to the "Auto" position before continuing field operations after any manual intervention with the toggle switch.
