J150 Removing/ Installing the Rear Radar

This article outlines the steps to Remove, Replace and Install the Rear Radar of the J150.

 

Locate the rear radar attached to two brackets on the back of the J150 drone.

Steps to Remove the Rear Radar:

1. Disconnect the Rear Radar Cable connected to the rear radar.

(Picture shown below).

 

2. Inspect the Rear Radar Cable for damage and proper connection.

It is important to inspect the rear radar cable line for proper connection or damage. If you are troubleshooting issues with the rear radar, the cable could potentially be the problem. The cable line runs from the rear radar to the CPU and is labeled "104 Rear Radar". If it is damaged, the cable will need to be replaced.

3. Remove the Radar bracket from the leg

Remove the rear radar bracket by unscrewing two 3mm hex heads and the locking nuts on the back. Once those are removed, you can pull down and away from the shaft bracket to get the bracket to come off the leg.

4. Remove the Radar from the bracket.

Remove the four 2.5mm hex head screws to remove the rear radar from the bracket.

Steps to Install the Rear Radar:

1. Mount the new rear radar to the mounting bracket

Using the four 2.5mm hex head screws.

Ensure the rear radar bracket is lined up correctly with the rear radar so the slot in the bracket matches the connection port for the rear radar cable.

2. Attach the Mounting Bracket back to the leg.

Attach the mounting bracket with the new rear radar attached to it, by two 3mm hex heads and the locking nuts on the back to secure it. Also, ensure the shaft bracket is lined up with the hole on the radar to ensure proper support on both sides of the rear radar.

3. Reconnect the Rear Radar Cable.

Ensure both sides of the rear radar cable are fully connected and inserted in their designated ports on the rear radar and on the CPU.
