This article outlines the step-by-step process for replacing the LIDAR on the J150 to ensure accuracy and efficiency in J150 repairs or troubleshooting.
J150 Replacing Top Radar, LIDAR, and FPV Camera Video
Removing the Lidar Steps
Step 1: Remove the J150 Front Cover

Locate and loosen the four 3 mm hex head bolts:
-
Two bolts on each side of the top close to the top radar.

Two bolts on each side near the bottom of the front cover.

Remove all four 3mm hex head bolts and set aside for later use when reinstalling the front cover.

Slide the top cover up and off the Drone.


Step 2: Remove the LiDAR 2:42
-
Locate the metal bracket on the right side of the LiDAR if facing the same direction as the drone.

Remove the four 3 mm hex head screws connecting it to the front mounting bracket.

Important: Ensure you support the LIDAR while removing the last screw to prevent it from falling.

- Disconnect the cable connected to the top of the Lidar.

Step 3: Transfer Bracket and Gaskets 3:32

If replacing the LIDAR, transfer the bracket and gaskets to the new unit in the correct order, ensuring a gasket is on both sides of the bracket. (Gasket, Bracket, Gasket, Screw)

Step 1: Attaching the bracket to the Lidar

Attach the bracket and gaskets to the new Lidar in the correct order, ensuring a gasket is on both sides of the bracket. (Gasket, Bracket, Gasket, Screw)

Step 2: Reattach the LiDAR 7:19

Connect the perception line (LiDAR cable) to the top of the Lidar, ensuring it clicks into place.

Secure the LiDAR with the bracket attached back into position on the drone, with the four 3 mm hex head screws.

Step 3: Reattach the Top Cover 9:18

Slide the top cover back into place, aligning it with the mounting holes.

Secure the top cover with the four 3 mm hex head screws, that were previously removed
The J150 Lidar is now installed!
