      J150 Troubleshooting Pump High RPMs On One Side (Adjusting Solenoid Valve Spring Screw)

      This article outlines troubleshooting high RPM pump speeds on one side, and adjusting the solenoid valve screw spring on the J150

       

      Troubleshooting:

      • Symptom: The pump speed on one side is high, but the flow rates on both sides are nearly identical, as shown in the picture below.
      • Diagnosis: As shown in the picture above the Right Pump speed is nearly 3,000 RPMs higher than the left pump.
      • Action to take: 
        1. First, confirm there are no blockages in the pipelines. 

        2. Then isolate the right water circuit from the solenoid valve and perform a spray test on the ground.

        3. If the speed difference between the Left and the right pumps still exceeds 500 RPMs, then the issue can be identified as a damaged solenoid valve, or a wiring harness issue.

      • Next Steps to Take: (Adjusting Solenoid Valve Spring Screw)
        1. Remove the solenoid valve from the affected side of the drone.

        Quick Note: If your solenoid has a screw like the one shown in the picture below in the red square, Do Not Attempt To Adjust it. You will need to go ahead and replace the Solenoid.

        If your solenoid does not have the same screw as shown above in the picture, then continue with the steps below.

        2. Back the screw out for 5 full turns. 

        3. Apply thread locker to the base of the screw.

        4. Tighten the screw by 1 full turn.

        5. Reinstall the solenoid valve and test its performance.

        If the problem is still not resolved, try replacing it with a new solenoid valve, or inspect the wiring harness and the nozzles ESC (Electronic Speed Controller).
