T20 Spreader Maintenance
This article shows how to maintain your spreading system for your T20 drone.
If your remote says “Hopper Gate Blocked” while you are spreading, and your gate is not opening or closing all the way, then you will want to take apart your spreader and clean it.
This usually happens with small seed or small fertilizer prills, (clover or ammonium nitrate for example). The product will actually get in between your gate and the spreader housing, then the motor will not have enough power to close or open all the way.
Steps to clean your spreader:
- first remove the tank from the spreader but keep the spreader cord attached to the drone. You should have enough cord to set the spreader on a workbench.
- Remove Spinner Disk: 7mm nut on the bottom. The bracket and disk will slide off (with some wiggling and prying)
- Then remove the 5 allen bolts under the spinner disc on the bottom of the spreader housing. Remove the spreader housing and the snap ring on the spinner shaft. Then you can remove the hopper gate.
- You can then clean the gate and soft padding between gate and inner spreader housing.
- You may want to remove this soft padding and replace it with our 3D printed sloped pieces. Contact us if you would like more info on these replacement pieces.
- When you reinstall the hopper gate, you will want to ensure that the opener gear is in the correct location. You will need to turn the drone on to do this.
- Then you can reinstall everything.
