Turning thermal off when taking photos.
How to turn the thermal off to take RGB photos and not fill up the SD card with both RGB and thermal.
🔍 EVO Max 4T
The Max 4T is designed for flexibility — you can switch between modes in the Autel Enterprise app to capture either RGB only, thermal only, or dual:
-
Power on drone + controller → launch app.
-
Go to camera settings → choose your payload mode.
-
Set it to RGB only when thermal data isn’t needed.
✅ Result: only RGB files saved ➝ more SD space for 8K visuals.
🔍 EVO II Dual 640T
The 640T, on the other hand, is always dual‑capture. Even if you preview in RGB-only mode, the drone continues to record both:
❌ Result: thermal plus RGB images always fill the SD — no option to change this.
Summary Table
Drone | Thermal Toggle? | Captured Files |
---|---|---|
EVO Max 4T | ✅ Yes | RGB or thermal or both |
EVO II Dual 640T | ❌ No | Always both RGB + thermal |
